Have you been logging your gifts and hospitality?
Giving and receiving gifts and hospitality remains an important instrument to show appreciation and to strengthen existing business relationships. We wish to remind you, during this Easter season, of the requirement to comply with the NewGen Code of Ethics, particularly the Gift and Hospitality Policy, which has been made available to all NewGen employees and will soon be available on the Intranet.
The giving and receiving of gift(s) and/or hospitality should be proportionate to the context in which they are exchanged in compliance with internal policy, and should not unduly influence business decisions, nor create the appearance of improper influence.
What to do when you receive/give a gift or hospitality?
Decide whether it is appropriate or not:
If in doubt, refer to the Gifts and Hospitality Policy. If you are uncertain regarding the application of the policy or the principles, consult HR or the Ethics and Governance Office KitimaL@newgenmc.co.za to receive guidance in the right direction.
Declaration Form
Please declare any gift or hospitality that you give/receive by completing the attached Declaration Form. Should you have any questions, please contact HR or the Ethics and Governance Office KitimaL@newgenmc.co.za. This provides us with transparency regarding the offers we give and receive.
Please note that “Hospitality” in terms of the Policy also includes business meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner).
